Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Planning Analysis Manager to join the Lighting Sector Finelite Team in Union City, CA. The Financial Planning Analysis Manager will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis efforts by supporting the Sr. Director of Finance in providing in-depth analysis of financial results to senior management to assist in business decision making. Leads the annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Ensures that budgeted investments are expenditures are well vetted utilizing sound financial analysis. Also, deploys appropriate processes, tools and controls to ensure that said investments align with strategic goals and meet financial performance requirements. Manages FP&A team and resources.

 

Salary Range: $145,000 - $165,000

 

What Will You Do?

  • Partner with Sr Director of Finance to ensure that organization is properly monitoring and controlling costs.
  • Partner with leadership team members and management to actively manage budget attainment.
  • Understanding not just the numbers – but the business activity and actively providing input to management as to decision making and strategic direction.
  • Support monthly close process. Leads efforts in consolidation of monthly results – including input in consolidation system for parent company consolidated financial statements. Prepare reports and summaries as required for inclusion in other financial reporting.
  • Acts as liaison between local business team and Legrand North America / Group FP&A.
  • Assists VP of Finance with ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA desired.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years professional experience with at least 5 years of accounting management required (i.e., controller, assistant controller, finance/accounting manager). 5+ years financial planning / budgeting experience with a demonstrated track record of results.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong financial planning & analysis skills and general accounting / finance background required for this position. Experience in leading teams in an intense, goal-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen through strong performance feedback.
  • Results driven with a track record of success in a wide variety of endeavors.
  • Collaborative – recognized for effective relationship building skills.

  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Expert level Microsoft Excel skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Access or other database experience is a plus.

  • Requires close attention to detail, ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified workload.
  • Must have the ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization and be able to work independently as well as within a variety of teams. Must be able to handle all types of personalities and relate to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.
  • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.
  • Limited travel within US, Canada and Mexico occasionally required.
