Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Site Planning Lead to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Canonsburg, PA. This is a newly-created position to help drive business expansion.” The Site Planning Lead's responsibilities include ensuring training and development of the team are kept at the forefront of daily activities and supporting all members of the planning team. This position provides support to all business areas of Starline and is a key driver for the organization’s customer-focused values. He or she will lead the team to perform tactical tasks associated with the day-to-day planning and scheduling of customer orders and will work closely with Sales, Purchasing, and Production to establish due dates to meet customer’s needs.  This position will drive improvements in the scheduling processes and MRP.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Maintain accuracy of the daily production schedules for all departments to set achievable targets.
  • Use capacity planning tools to make necessary recommendations to the production team to change production rates and/or line configurations with available labor.
  • Evaluate the impact of expedited orders on the production plan and provide feedback to CSS’s.
  • Assesses performance analyzes sales orders and forecasts, and communicates risks to the Supply Chain Manager while recommending corrective actions.
  • During the first year, progress toward developing and maintaining a Master Production Schedule to ensure past due orders are minimized. 
  • Grow, mentor, and develop a planning team.
  • Collaborate closely with purchasing to communicate material shortages and ensure material availability to meet the production schedule. 
  • Deploy and improve planning process and methodology to improve on-time delivery.
  • Represent planning at Tier 2 & Tier 3 meetings.
  • Lead planning team to provide timely and accurate responses to customer service needs.
  • Monitors Syteline data, capacity reports, and other data resources to ensure efficient capacity to meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate with the operation, purchasing, engineering, and customer service on standard work to help the planning team with visibility on parts required for manufacturing jobs. 
  • First line of escalation with customer service issues.
  • Participate in monthly safety walks.
  • Collaborate across Starline operations to implement and share best practices in the planning process.

Qualifications

Education / Experience:           

  • A bachelor’s degree or work experience may be considered instead of, or in conjunction with, educational requirements.
  • 7 years’ minimum manufacturing experience in an assemble-to-order environment.
  • 5 years of MRP or ERP software experience is required.
  • 3 years’ minimum supervisor/management experience, preferred.
  • Master Schedule experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Developing sub-ordinates skills and competencies and defines development needs
  • Proven appreciation of customer service expectations and cost demands of business
  • Sets priorities taking into account short and long-term needs of the business
  • Excellent communication skills - must be able to communicate effectively with a full spectrum of personnel, from technical to administrative, internally and externally

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  •  Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection
  • Regularly required to stand; walk and communicate with others
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods; ability to fly for extended periods
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
