Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Training Manager to join the Data, Power & Control Team REMOTELY. Develops the Data Power and Control strategy and vision for the training and development for all aspects of internal/external sales technical training for field sales, DPC associates, consultants, and distributors to support global, regional and area sales growth.  Redefine the current training structure model and create change to develop a world class Technical Training organization.  Define and develop contractor certifications, tools, classroom programs, and online modalities to support effective and timely training opportunities.  Deliver training and assist in the development and maintenance of new and existing programs.

 

Main Activities:

Organization: Team Leader competency model

Main Interface: Internal – Sales and Marketing teams, Customer Service, Engineering,.  External – Distributors, Contractors, Customers, Sales Reps., vendors

Budget: Provides input to operations budget, manages function to budget

 

Main Job Duties:

  • Develops and delivers hands-on training from the instructional design of technical courses through conducting training sessions. Has thorough understanding of engineering processes.  
  • Collaborates with DPC Team and customers to identify future trends and establish technical training programs. Based upon research, generates white papers to address current and future. 
  • Actively participates on the Technical Industry Councils and Boards.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify and diagnose gaps in technical effectiveness.
  • Recommend solutions and interventions to achieve desired level of training capability for our industry and customer base.
  • Supervise the development and revision of instructionally sound programs and materials, track and monitor results, ensure consistency of information (concepts) and materials, conduct train-the-trainer sessions and provide coaching support to technical trainers within the markets; facilitate technical classes as appropriate, create metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and look for ways to continually improve initiatives and programs
  • Support, design assistance, response to RFIs, development of sales tools, training and other support for LNA employees, etc.
  • Provide monthly training programs on product and related telecommunication topics.
  • R&D and Engineering: Summarize standards information from Engineering and keep updated on product development, testing, etc. to support customers and Sales.

Qualifications

Education:   BS/BA in Organizational Development, Telecommunications, Engineering or related field.  Masters degree preferred.

 

Experience: 10 years of experience in a medium to large business with revenue in excess of 100M developing and delivering training. 

 

Skills:

  • Demonstrated significant initiative and intrinsic leadership/OD Training skills in prior job
  • Solid familiarity with Data Connectivity/Wireless systems and data sources such as; RCDD, LAN, other relevant certifications and advanced product knowledge.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.  Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.  Able to create effective reports, presentations and business correspondence.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.

Salary and Benefits:

 

$120,000 - $150,000 base plus DPC Team Incentive Plan participation.
