Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Capacity Planner to join the Legrand- Data, Power and Control Team in Reno, NV.

 

What Will You Do?

 

  • Develop work orders from MRP demand and customer orders to meet sales order shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders, Provide feedback to sales with accurate ship dates for customer orders.
  • Independently create work orders for production, including conversion jobs for SKU conversions and rework jobs for discrepant material.
  • Communicate and coordinate with production supervisors and purchasing teams to ensure schedule adherence and recovery if required.  Attend daily production planning meetings to convey production schedules to manufacturing.
  • Provide regular updates to customer service teams to meet or exceed customer expectations and establish effective relationships.
  • Track the progression of production orders, investigate factors that affect schedules, and modify plans as necessary.
  • Expedite critical orders throughout the supply chain.
  • Inform management of potential production problems and assist in the implementation of both short and long-term solutions.
  • Participate in cross-training within the department to ensure understanding of all Planning Department responsibilities.
  • Maintain internal communication on open customer opportunities and provide input at S&OP meetings. 
  • Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities related to production planning, customer service, and inventory management.
  • Perform planning functions required to achieve the timely and successful launch of new products and, as assigned, participate on new product development teams.
  • Actively participate in ongoing company cost reduction efforts.
  • Develop and process planning bills of material.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:  

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University with emphasis in Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience within the supply chain function, preferably in planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment.

 Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP), certification preferred.
  • Project management skills including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks along with excellent time management skills and customer service skills.
  • Computer proficient with ERP Materials Management and Production Planning tools. SAP preferred.
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint), experience with Salesforce.com preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Production, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process.
