Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor -  to join the Starline, Data Power and Control Division in Canonsburg, PA. This position will direct the work, support, and supervise a team of frontline employees within a designated area or areas during our 3 day Weekend Night Shift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00pm - 6:00am EST).

 

Main Job Duties:

  • Mentor and coach department employees while maintaining high standards of conduct and leadership
  • Ensure that your team is trained for success in current roles and can utilize materials properly and effectively; recommend any professional training employees may need
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all departments, including Quality for engineering updates and employee training
  • Work in collaboration with Line Leads to make sure all lines are running efficiently and following the Legrand Way
  • Direct the departmental work schedule while utilizing various systems and tools, including championing efforts associated with Legrand Way tools
  • Manage employee staffing levels and adjust as needed when last minute call-offs occur or priorities change, escalate as needed
  • Ensure that all output meets Legrand standards of safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, 5S, and budgetary (tools, scrap, etc.) goals
  • Reporting requirements within the department and any other requests from management
  • Evaluate candidates and make recommendations for hiring decisions while managing staffing levels
  • Identify performance opportunities and make recommendations for improvement for individuals while ensuring the implementation of those improvements
  • Work all shifts and departments, as needed, and take part in OT rotation
  • Maintain high employee morale
  • Write and deliver performance appraisals and make recommendations for merit increases
  • Cross-train to work in other functional departments of the plant
  • Take part in OT rotation
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education:   

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree preferred

Experience:  

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience required
  • Previous experience as a Production Coordinator/Team Lead preferred
  • 2-4 years of supervisory experience required 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Ability to run reports, effectively present information, and respond to questions
  • Ability to learn Shop-Trak, Syteline, and other systems - CloudSuite
  • Ability to use MS Outlook, Word, and Excel proficiently
  • Ability to coordinate a team and implement departmental initiatives
  • Able to run forklifts, pallet jacks
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, BOMs and Travelers
  • Working knowledge of quality control systems and inventory flow/control
  • Skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing and great organizational skills
  • Capability to identify, write, and perform corrective action issues
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Concepts is preferred
  • Process timesheets
