Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Data Analytics Analyst II to join the Pass & Seymour Team in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will collect, clean, analyze, and interpret large datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends then used to inform business decisions and solve problems within the organization. Also, you will translate raw data into actionable information for stakeholders by using various statistical and data visualization tools.

 

What Will You Do?

 

  • Support operations and conduct data analytics projects to provide information and insights to stakeholders for decision-making or solution development.
  • Implement data standards and deploy automation tools to extract, synthesize, and validate data from different sources and transform data into usable metrics.
  • Construct data sets, monitor data quality, troubleshoot and resolve database issues to ensure data integrity.
  • Utilize scripting and querying tools like Python, R or SQL, data visualization/BI tools, statistical methods, and data modeling to produce reports, data files, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and requirements. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, a quantitative field or equivalent.
  • Gathe data from different sources, cleaning and organizing it, performing statistical analysis, identifying patterns and trends, creating data visualizations (like charts and graphs), and presenting findings to relevant decision-makers.
  • Utilize marketing analysis, customer behavior insights, sales performance tracking, operational efficiency, financial forecasting, and more.

Qualifications

Education:   B.S. in computer science, applied statistics, information systems or data analytics. Master’s degree in Applied Data Science or related degree strongly preferred.

 

Experience:  2-4 year’s experience in data analytics field. Business unit experience in a large organization is preferred.

  • Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) for data manipulation, strong analytical skills, data visualization tools (like Tableau, Power BI), programming languages like Python or R for advanced analysis, and effective communication skills to convey insights clearly
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high quality of work and hitting deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently, have strong organizational skills and superb attention to detail.
  • Must be collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment, with strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated experience taking initiative of projects and finding areas of opportunity.
  • Strong organizational skills, presentation skills, and business acumen.
  • Confidence to effectively interact at all levels of the organization
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including SmartSheet, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
