Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Driver to join the Data Center Power & Control Division Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. This position is responsible for operating company vehicles, 26 foot box truck and Conestoga truck to transport materials safely between vendor warehouses and manufacturing facility. Must have experience operating delivery trucks.

 

Hours

Two Positions: 6:00am – 6:00pm Friday through Sunday

One Position: 8:00pm – 6:00am Monday through Thursday

 

What Will You Do?

  • Load and unload with proper materials for delivery.
  • Transport product to both our vendors and between Legrand warehouses.
  • Work within the packaging area in shipping when truck is not scheduled.
  • Package select preassembled containers, inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
  • Properly packs customer orders and performs reconciliation with the use of Syteline.
  • Uses computer programs such as Syteline, Internet, regularly throughout the shift.
  • Adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices.
  • Load/unload trucks.
  • Cross training to work in other functional department of the plant.
  • Forklift, Reach-truck and crane operation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:           

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of experience in shipping department preferred.
  • Forklift truck experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Experience operating trucks, CDL would be preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to operate forklift and reach-truck. (company certify if necessary).
  • Oral Comprehension – The ability to listen to and understand information and communicate with supervision and management through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to complete scheduled truck routes.
  • Properly maintain and care for company equipment.
  • High attention to details.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.
  • Ability to work occasional mandatory overtime as needed.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where, in certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
