Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Global Strategic Sourcing to join the Data Center Power & Control Division in Reno, NV. Reporting to the DPC Sr. Director of Procurement and strong dotted line to PAC VP of Operations –  Director of Strategic Sourcing – PAC is responsible for creating, challenging, and driving the strategy of supply & commercial (Supplier) strategy, driving optimum performance and the lowest total cost of ownership of component & purchased finished goods supply and EMS commercial landscape. The incumbent has responsibility for deploying DPC strategic sourcing framework across all PAC locations.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Develop the vision, goals, and objectives for PAC Strategic Sourcing organization using DPC Strategic Sourcing framework and leveraging LNCA standard work.  
  • Develop and implement risk management supplier initiatives (LNCA sourcing steps process and Life Cycle Cost) to prevent sole/single source and geopolitical landscape.
  • Understand current market trends around material cost and availability and benchmark external companies related to supply chain performance with a focus on LNCA CSR requirements.
  • Responsible for annual material productivity to ensure we deliver the LNCA target Y-o-Y.
  • Will lead and implement project savings, including benchmarking, supplier tear down, VAVE, and cost negotiations.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing peers to co-create the EMS sourcing strategy, ensuring commercial agreements align with product line, capacity/growth, partner capabilities/performance, and regional sourcing and order fulfillment objectives.
  • In collaboration with Operation, lead the contract manufacturing commercial relationships. The objective is to establish balanced commercial operational models (and terms of doing business) that account for cost management, manufacturing performance, material sourcing, inventory carrying, and other critical operational processes.
  • Strengthen relationships and alignment with Tier 1/Tier 2/3 partners through establishing and orchestrating regular executive business reviews to discuss business outlooks, strategic initiatives, and areas of improvement that require executive-level awareness/support.
  • Ready and support team in negotiations of new commercial agreements aligned with updated strategic commercials objectives.
  • Escalation point for Operations leader on supplier performance, expedites, and as required with suppliers.
  • Deploy and ensure supplier delivery in Quality, Delivery, Cost, Safety, and CSR through supplier scorecard.
  • SME on key commodities strategies for DPC to leverage DPC spending while driving benefits to BU.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or a related field required; MBA, preferred.

Experience:  

  • A minimum 10 years combined experience in purchasing, materials, supply chain, and inventory control related roles, with minimum of 5 years supporting a global supply chain and 3 years leading the Sourcing / Supply Chain activities at a business unit level is required.
  • Experience with a multi-site or multi-business environment is preferred.
  • Experience in EMS, “make to order”, discrete production and assembly, industrial environment is a plus.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Proven track record, in complex manufacturing environment, of leading purchasing, inventory control, supply chain, and materials efforts, with demonstrated tangible results that positively impacted business cost, service, and performance.
  • Understanding of current material market trends (cost and availability) across multiple commodities.
  • Solid negotiation skills with a proven track record of cost reduction and process improvement accomplishments.
  • Ability to travel on a global basis and effectively work with teams from other countries and cultures.
  • Requires strong organizational and project management skills, close attention to detail, and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Able to create effective reports, presentations and business correspondence and be comfortable presenting to senior Legrand leadership and key customers.
