Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Business Unit Controller II to join the Electical Wiring Systems Team in West Hartford, CT. Manages operations accounting, overseeing cost accounting activities for Electrical Wiring Systems (EWS). Directs preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual productivity reporting for all EWS entities. This position is responsible for internal productivity reviews and generation and communication of productivity metrics for EWS.
The Operations Controller is responsible for the financial and operational support of the business entity, including the following: providing financial support and analysis to the business on operational issues, such as freight, packaging, capital expenditures, logistics, inventory, etc.
Providing financial support and analysis to the business on purchasing issues, material purchases, productivity metrics, inflation, etc. Providing financial support and analysis to the business on direct sourcing initiatives, indirect sourcing initiatives, Asian sourcing initiatives, etc. Manufacturing: Providing financial support and analysis to the business on manufacturing issues, such as productivity metrics, process improvements, and outsourced production.
Main Activities:
· Organization: Team Leader competency level.
· Main Interface: Internal: entity management, LNA financial staff and select Legrand SA financial staff. External: auditors and consultants.
· Budget: Participates in development of entity budget, and evaluating management of the business to the approved budget.
What Will You Do?
Required Skills
Education:
BS in Accounting or Finance with a, CMA or CPA desired.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years professional experience with at least 5 years in Finance and accounting management (i.e., controller, assistant controller, finance/accounting manager). 5+ years manufacturing experience required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Must have strong financial control background and demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. Must demonstrate good judgment, well developed business ethics, integrity and consultancy skills.
Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and related financial software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills required. Must have the ability to communicate persuasively and effectively and manage multiple priorities in an intense, deadline driven environment.
The candidate should be a strong, visible leader able to instill confidence in the financial organization and with various leaders.
Must be able to manage, develop, train, motivate and manage staff on a day to day basis, establish goals and provide performance feedback per Legrand performance management process. Must be able to provide the right balance of guidance/support and autonomy, based upon employees’ level of skills, knowledge and competence.
