CMDB Intern (Summer 2025)

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a CMDB Intern to join the IT Service Management Team in West Hartford, CT. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college intern to support our IT Service Management (ITSM) team in curating and updating the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow platform. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT asset and configuration management, data integrity, and ITIL best practices. The intern will work closely with IT professionals to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained in the CMDB to support IT operations and decision-making.

Main Job Duties

• Assist in collecting, verifying, and updating Configuration Items (CIs) in the CMDB.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency in ServiceNow CMDB records.
• Collaborate with IT teams to identify and document infrastructure components, relationships, and dependencies.
• Support data reconciliation efforts by identifying and resolving discrepancies between different data sources.
• Follow ITIL and organizational best practices for CMDB management and documentation.
• Assist in developing and updating CMDB-related workflows, reports, and dashboards in ServiceNow
• Conduct periodic audits of CMDB data to maintain integrity and compliance.
• Document processes, procedures, and findings for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in meetings and training sessions related to IT Asset Management and ITSM.
• Provide recommendations for improving data quality and automation within the CMDB.

Qualifications

Education:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience:

• Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and asset management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts and frameworks like ITIL is a plus.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
