Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Manager/Demand Supply Planning to join the Kenall Team in Kenosha, WI. The Manager, Demand/Supply Planning is responsible for the full business and/or technical development lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation and support of the ERP functions. This position will demonstrate expertise in design, delivery, business, technical leadership and validation of Demand/Supply Plan and functional capability of the Demand/Supply planning Systems and processes.

The position will work extensively within the Operations Organization and Supply Chain teams to develop a viable, executable demand & supply plan. This will include a demonstrated understanding of the Demand and Supply Planning Process and output validation to ensure optimized component and raw material requirements.  The primary focus of this position is to ensure the development and implementation of a process that enables product/product lines to be offered with high velocity due to effective planning and guaranteed component availability. In addition, the role is the principle driver of business application capability and future enhancements that improve the planning process including the development of a constraint based planning system and the ability to forecast component requirements to support the configurable business models driving component demand planning parameters generated from applicable planning BOM models.

The technical aspect of this role involves understanding and supporting the development of Model BOMs, identifying the correct level of component planning to generate effective planning methodologies to minimize finished good stocking and support a Final Assembly schedule through component availability. In addition, the responsibility will be to engage the business teams, sales, and other appropriate functions to develop and produce a monthly Demand/Supply planning framework that yields improved overall forecast accuracy.

The role will have responsibility for, within our matrixed organization, the raw material and component planning process working with the manufacturing organizations to insure accurate planning parameters and inventory accuracy and availability, requiring relationship building and influence.

This role will also work extensively with the Purchasing, Warehouse, and Brad teams to balance the Demand/Supply planning activity for all product families. This includes the direct and indirect management of resources required to manage this complex process and business application. This role is a leadership position and Subject Matter Expert for the planning process. This position will be required to represent and have accountability

 

What Will You Do?

  1. Owns and drives execution of the business and technical aspects of the Demand/Supply planning process and component availability.  Works in matrixed environment and collaborates with purchasing and warehouse teams.
  2. Develop, implement, and manage methodologies to support finished goods/non-finished goods planning requirements including a robust safety stock tool and an effective EOQ plan for cost effective raw material planning and procurement
  3. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and IT to develop and implement planning methodologies driving and maximizing demand/supply planning and availability 
  4. Provide leadership and supervision to the direct and indirect team that is developing and supporting Production Planning and Scheduling

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Required Degree:  Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and specifically Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or other technology related field for the Technology lead.

 

Preferred Degree:  Master’s degree, MBA preferred

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 - 8 years of relevant experience with demonstrated business or technical background
  • Detailed knowledge and exposure to Forecasting, Sales & Operational Planning systems and Tools, Enterprise Planning Systems and Material Requirement Planning
  • Experience with hands on Demand/Supply planning and Manufacturing Execution Systems
  • Proven track record to work independently and collaboratively with a cross functional team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines timely and to accurately complete activities
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, including the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical audiences
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, including leading teams, cross functional teams, and matrixed teams
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed operating environment
