Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Sustainability Analyst to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA.

 

The Senior Product Sustainability Analyst plays a key role in driving sustainability initiatives across Starline’s product portfolio. This role leads the development of product-level environmental documentation, supports regulatory compliance, and integrates sustainability best practices into new and existing products. The analyst will collaborate across engineering, product management, and corporate sustainability functions to deliver transparency documentation such as Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Product Environmental Profiles (PEPs), support Eco-Design implementation, and ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations. This position is critical to supporting Legrand’s broader sustainability goals, particularly those focused on circular economy principles, sustainable product design, and customer-driven ESG reporting.

 

Main Job Duties:

  • Product Transparency & Certification
    • Lead the development of EPDs and PEPs for Starline products in line with Legrand’s product coverage targets.
    • Maintain accurate and auditable datasets for environmental impact calculations using recognized LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) software.
    • Coordinate data collection and technical validation with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams.
  • Eco-Design & New Product Development
    • Develop and maintain Eco-Design playbooks for Starline’s New Product Development (NPD) efforts.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document sustainable design choices and support Eco-Design scoring activities.
  • Sustainability Reporting & KPI Management
    • Create and maintain tools for tracking sustainability performance, including CSR KPIs and product compliance metrics.
    • Lead quarterly reporting updates on progress toward sustainability targets.
    • Manage environmental compliance reporting, as required, including support for Extended Producer Responsibility reporting (EPRs).
  • Customer & Stakeholder Support
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for sustainability-related customer requests and inquiries.
    • Provide sustainability data and documentation to support customer ESG reporting requirements.
  • Process Development & System Integration
    • Identify and recommend tools/software for sustainability data modeling and reporting.
    • Ensure software licenses are maintained and updated annually.
    • Support integration of sustainability considerations into engineering change processes, BOMs, and raw material specifications.
  • Corporate Collaboration
    • Act as Starline’s liaison to Legrand Group and Legrand North & Central America sustainability teams.
    • Align local efforts with group-wide sustainability strategies and participate in cross-BU knowledge sharing.

 

Qualifications

 Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Sustainability, or a related technical field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in product sustainability, environmental compliance, or related fields, preferably within manufacturing or industrial products.

Other Qualifications:

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and certifications (e.g., ISO 14025, EN 15804, LEED, WELL).
  • Proficient in environmental regulatory requirements (e.g., Prop 65, RoHS, REACH, HPDs).
  • Experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi, One Click LCA) and sustainability data platforms.
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across departments.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation, drawings, BOMs, and change control processes.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization/reporting tools.

Interpersonal & Communication:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across engineering, operations, and executive teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., LEED AP, ISSP-SA, LCA practitioner certification).
  • Experience in industrial power distribution or data center infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience with ERP or PLM systems for product data management.

Personal Qualities/Behaviors:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 10% of the time.
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
