Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an entry level professionals to participate in our Sales Leadership Development Program. The SLDP Associate will learn and develop as a Sales professional by rotating through Marketing and Sales positions across our company within a 2-year period.

 

The SLDP Associate will complete a 12-month rotation in a marketing role and a 12-month rotation in sales. These rotations will require relocation. The Marketing roles may include Product Management or Product Marketing. Sales positions may include Territory Sales or Account Management that will help you gain direct, customer-facing experience in key sales functions. Upon completion of the program, the associate will be assigned to an open role in Sales at any Legrand location. The SLDP Associate must be mobile to move to any location within the US.

 

What Will You Do?

 

Position Attributes and Responsibilities:

Marketing

  • Gather, analyze, and survey existing and potential market data for promotion and distribution for an assigned region or product.
  • Maintain and develop profiles for key competitors as input to decision making.
  • Develop a clear understanding of market conditions, territory opportunities, and competition.
  • Learn how to develop a marketing plan.
  • Understand new product life cycle. Collaborate with Product Management teams to understand how products are positioned, launched, and supported in the market.
  • May attend, assist, and support the company events related to marketing activities.
  • Become knowledgeable of other functions (Pricing, Customer Support, etc.) within the business.

Sales

  • Develop new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of an organization's products and/or services.
  • Work with customers to find what they want, create solutions, and ensure a smooth sales process.
  • Assist with regular in-person meetings with key contacts at specific accounts to measure progress and make improvements to strategy, implementation, and execution where necessary.
  • Work with LNCA teams and collaborate with other LNCA territory representation when identifying additional LNCA opportunities.
  • Clearly communicate our vision and direction internally and to the customer.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Industrial Distribution, Engineering (Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical), Construction Management preferred.

Experience:

  • Relevant work experience a plus.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Ability to adapt quickly to new business units, teams, and environments during rotational transitions.
  • Quickly grasp complex solutions and communicate technical details clearly to support sales efforts.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and proven ability to effectively conduct in-depth research, identify trends and summarize information on a variety of subjects.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Learn how to use customer tools & become proficient in SalesForce.com.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills to multiple audiences.
  • Strong presentation skills – both creating content and delivering message.
  • Ability to get things done utilizing individual and team strengths.
  • A willingness and ability to work across organizational boundaries.
