Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Team Lead  to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. This position will help direct the work of, support and lead a team of frontline employees within the Shipping Department.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Maintain high employee morale
  • Models high standards of conduct and leadership
  • Ensures that employees are utilizing materials properly and effectively
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all departments of the organization
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on hiring decisions
  • Promote and adhere to all company policies, guidelines and practices including the SECRIT values.
  • Specific Job Responsibilities:
    • Support/Coordinate Pick Pack and Ship Process with Dept. Supervisor
    • Run necessary reports to ensure the priority of shipments are being met to meet customer demands.
    • Reporting rate quotes to sales as needed.
    • Identify orders that have crating needs.
    • Schedule trucks for pickups and deliveries.
    • Schedule Scrap pick up.
    • Schedule inbound RMA shipments.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Communicate with Department Supervisors on job’s status.
  • Emails and Phone calls from sales and accounting as needed.
  • Assist in the training of new employee’s.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:      

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience preferred 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Ability to learn Shop-Trak, Syteline and other systems
  • Ability to use MS Outlook, Word and Excel proficiently
  • Ability to coordinate a team and implement departmental initiatives
  • Skilled at multi-tasking, prioritizing and great organizational skills

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where, in certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
