Position Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join the Data Center Power and Control Division. This role is responsible for supporting sales leaders by developing relationships with potential customers, understanding sales strategies to identify prospects, nurturing leads, and recognizing opportunities to drive new revenue.

 

This is a remote position reporting to Farmingdale, NY.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Execute strategies set by sales leaders to support broader sales targets.
  • Achieve planned sales levels for all assigned accounts through lead generation, lead/quote follow-up, and regular contact with existing accounts.
  • Pursue and develop relationships to identify business opportunities to upsell services/products.
  • Drive retention and growth among customers by understanding their business needs.
  • Maintain communication with customers to ensure product satisfaction, positive customer experience, and dedication to service.
  • Establish relationships with purchasing and technical POCs within assigned accounts to maintain a greater point of presence.
  • Follow up on quotes to determine win/loss status and provide relevant background to ensure accurate forecast.
  • Partner with internal engineering, field sales/service, operations, and customer support teams to resolve issues.
  • Manage projects assigned by sales leaders.
  • Enter and maintain data in multiple systems, trackers, and reporting tools, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist with Quarterly Business Review preparation and coordination.
  • Advise internal teams on product and service improvements/suggestions based on client feedback.
  • Participate in tradeshows as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Annual Salary Range - $60,000 - $70,000

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of sales experience is required.
  • Large account management experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure and cooling systems is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated skills in prospecting using various direct and indirect methods are required.
  • Must have consultative sales skills and familiarity with sales processes/methodologies.
  • Must be able to effectively establish credibility and influence others.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, make decisions independently while being mindful of organizational processes and guidelines is required.
  • The ability to effectively and professionally communicate internally and externally is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to think analytically, strategically, and tactically while considering other functional areas is required.

  • Must be self-motivated and driven with demonstrated ability to drive results.
  • Professional, mature, and collaborative interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience with an ERP system is required; SAP preferred.
  • Experience with a CRM system is required; Salesforce is preferred.
  • The ability to lift 30 lbs. is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% is required.
