Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Engineering Co-op to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA.
The Electrical Engineering Co-op will support the design, documentation, testing, integration, and commercialization of embedded IoT devices. Working under the guidance of the Engineering Manager and experienced Electrical Engineers, the co-op will gain hands-on experience in embedded hardware development, test engineering, and automation. This opportunity begins in Summer 2025, with potential for additional rotations in 2026.
Location: Starline Headquarters – Canonsburg, PA Work Arrangement: On-site, full-time
When: Summer or Fall 2026
Main Job Duties:
· Gain hands-on experience in embedded hardware development, firmware/software testing, and test engineering automation
· Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
· Assist in the setup and execution of test plans for embedded systems, including performance verification and compliance testing
· Support the development and automation of test procedures for firmware, software, and hardware components
· Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and validate embedded systems in lab environments
· Work with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, and Azure DevOps (ADO) to track tasks, update progress, and support agile workflows
· Participate in design reviews, DFMEAs, and project status meetings
· Assist in the creation of technical documentation including drawings, manuals, and installation guides
· Contribute to team-based initiatives and cross-functional collaboration across engineering and product development
· Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education:
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
· Completion of sophomore year or higher
· Minimum GPA of 3.0
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
· Exposure to CAD software, preferably Altium Designer
· Strong organizational, time management, communication, and presentation skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
· Typical office environment with standard lighting, temperature, and equipment
· Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas requires PPE (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection)
· Ability to stand, walk, and communicate effectively
· Ability to sit for extended periods
· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
