Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Analyst to join the Pass & Seymour Team in Syracuse, NY.  In this opportunity you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable product development. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and compliance teams to ensure our products meet evolving environmental standards and exceed expectations for transparency, safety, and performance.

 

What Will You Do?

 

Product Development & Standards

  • Guide teams through eco-design principles using the Legrand Way Eco Design process.
  • Support stage-gate and agile product development processes.
  • Mentor product teams to ensure sustainability KPIs are met.

Regulatory Foresight & Compliance

  • Anticipate changes in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), product chemical content, and stewardship regulations.
  • Analyze and manage compliance across RoHS, REACH, California Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals, VOCs, PFAS, TSCA, and more.
  • Collaborate with Nationally Recognized Testing Labs (NRTLs) such as UL, Intertek, and CSA.
  • Conduct research related to Product Circularity and Decarbonization (topics may include Scope 3 accounting, embodied carbon reduction strategies, product take-back schemes and others).

Transparency & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain Product Environmental Profiles (PEPs) and Health Product Declarations (HPDs).
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding environmental compliance and product content.

Data & Tools Management

  • Build and maintain databases and tools for monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reporting.
  • Research and manage software tools used in compliance activities, ensuring licenses are up to date.

Internal Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and active member of the LNCA Compliance Committee.
  • Share findings and regulatory updates across EWS business to maintain awareness and readiness.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data management, business, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Expert knowledge of sustainability standards such as RoHS, Prop 65, PEPs, and HPDs.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks such as Global Reporting Index (GRI) and UN's Sustainability Data Goal (SDG) is a plus.
