Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a FAI Supervisor to join the Data Power and Control Team in Taiwan. The FAI Supervisor is responsible for leading the First Article Inspection process to ensure that new products, new tooling, engineering changes, and supplier-introduced components fully meet specification and regulatory requirements before release to mass production. This role ensures the manufacturing process is capable of producing parts that consistently conform to engineering drawings and specifications, manages FAI documentation, drives cross‑functional alignment, and ensures compliance with customer, internal, and industry standards. The FAI Supervisor plays a critical role in risk mitigation, launch readiness, and ensuring that product quality is validated at the start of the product lifecycle.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Lead, plan, and execute First Article Inspections for new parts, tooling changes, ECNs, or supplier qualification activities.
  • Manage daily schedules, prioritize inspection tasks, and provide technical guidance on complex measurements.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Actions when FAI failures occur; collaborate with Engineering to resolve design or manufacturing discrepancies.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supplier Quality, and Program Management to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure smooth product launch.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline the FAI workflow and reduce inspection cycle times through automation or improved sampling plans.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance FAI efficiency
  • Identify gaps in measurement methods, documentation, or inspection practices and implement improvements.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.

 

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in quality inspection, metrology, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience supervising a technical team preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Hands-on experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, vision systems).
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to make high-pressure decisions regarding product quality.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
