The role provides leadership in designing, developing, and validating new products. Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment. What Will You Do?- Create innovative, customizable power distribution busway systems and components.- Use a systematic, analytically-based approach to concepting, designing, and testing.- Design and develop mechanical systems utilizing many manufacturing methods such as thermoplastic extruding, plastic injection molding, thermoset molding, metal forming, metal casting, and metal extruding.- Utilize 2D and 3D CAD systems to perform detailed design analysis, including structural, thermal, and finite element analysis methods.- Provide mechanical materials and tooling cost studies. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern - Tool & Die will develop, implement, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes required to meet the needs of the operation for both existing and new products. Assure processes support organizational goals for safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost. What Will You Do?- Develop new, or improve existing, standard work for tool room processes, including the reconfiguration of dies to make different parts, and processes for maintaining tools in service.- Working with tool room employees and utilizing audit and hazard analysis data, assess safety risks within the tool room and design and implement safety improvements.- Support capital improvements by prioritizing equipment replacement needs, evaluating equipment options, conducting financial analysis, selecting optimal equipment investments, and making a capital expenditure proposal for management approval. As needed, analyze area layout and make recommendations for equipment layout modifications to support new or replacement equipment that supports more efficient workflow.- Analyze tool usage and performance data to recommend a model for categorizing tools by criticality and identifying tools requiring major refurbishment, modification, or replacement based on performance data.- Assess current spare parts inventory and recommend additional spares where current on hand is deficient, or elimination of spares where the tooling is no longer in service.- Assist in resolution of production delays as needed, for example by taking measurements and preparing engineering prints of components that require replacement.

The Product Claims Manager will be the technical liaison in support of litigation and subrogation claims for the Pass & Seymour business. Will interact with liability insurance carrier representatives, brokers, internal & external legal counsel, technical consultants and hired experts to manage sensitive and potentially high-risk field complaints and manage adjudication. Salary Range: $116,500 - $145,400 Main Job Duties: - Maintain communication of claim status with P&S leadership, internal legal counsel and when appropriate Legrand Corporate. Meet regularly with Finance Director to review claims and update recommended financial reserves. Manage communications on product complaints, lab test failures, other non-conformances, new product introductions.- Interact with liability insurance carrier representatives, brokers, internal & external legal counsel, technical consultants and hired experts to manage sensitive and potentially high-risk field complaints and manage adjudication.- Provide engineering specifications, documentation and product samples to assist in investigations. Assist outside counsel in replies to interrogatories and requests for production of documents from plaintiffs.- Participate in on-site C&O investigations as deemed appropriate / requested by carrier rep & experts.- Serve as ‘corporate representative’ in litigation, providing deposition when needed. What Will You Do?Perform testing functions required for new product development and to integrate new technologies into existing product lines. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:· Work under the general direction of the Compliance and Test Managers.· Organize test lab; maintain lab equipment, testing software, tools and testing supplies.· Understand product testing programs, and work with the designers to explain test procedures and Standards requirements for our products.· Troubleshoot and test for product/performance related field complaints and suggest possible solutions.· Interact with product designers, engineers and draftspersons where required to support product development.· Work with compliance personnel to investigate whether products are designed to meet or exceed all applicable specifications.· Perform failure analysis on fixtures as a result of field or production line problems.· Manage, prioritize and schedule physical testing labs to ensure proper operation, safety and cleanliness.· Assist Testing and Compliance Manager with UL/ETL submissions, quotations, and general file maintenance.· Facilitate and manage UL and ETL factory inspections.· Assist, supervise and train Junior Lab Technicians.· Perform high-level tests including EMI, Photometric, Water and Dust, and HALT/HASS testing.
