At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Finelite Team in Union City, CA.Finelite is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician as part of the Lean Operations department to perform carpentry, factory facilities and equipment maintenance tasks while keeping the site(s) clean, repaired, and in good working condition. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the candidate performs tasks using proper materials and methods to ensure work is done properly and safely. With an emphasis on carpentry and electrical tasks the role may also include rough/finish woodworking, painting, HVAC, mechanical (forklifts, air compressors, benchtop tooling, etc.), plumbing, general handyman, janitorial, and related skills. Project-level upgrades to site(s) and equipment will be intermittently assigned as well as supervision/oversight to the Facilities team. What Will You Do?- Performs carpentry, woodworking, and painting w/ minimal direction.- Performs basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC and/or facilities maintenance.- Inspects buildings/grounds according to established guidelines for condition, safety, and cleanliness. Performs routine maintenance and reports issues to supervisor for priority and recommendation.- Provides direction and decision latitude w/ the Facilities team.- Moves furniture and/or equipment, set up conference rooms as needed. Responsible for managing EH&S programs across all Finelite campuses in Union City & Livermore, CA, the position implements safety programs strategized toward zero injuries and world class performance, plans and/or delivers programs to train managers and employees in workplace safety practices, and promotes facility/factory safety by working with all departments to analyze current conditions and recommend safety improvements. Analyzes accident data to identify trends and accident types that can be prevented, leads the Finelite/LNCA Safety Committee, and spear-heads external safety events and audits. Monitor OSHA required records and reports, coordinate compliance driven safety activities, monitor individual safety committee actions and verify effectiveness, monitor safety training both for compliance and effectiveness. Lead ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs at all sites.
