The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for the design and implementation of opto-mechanical components and assemblies, including product test validation, for new products, product enhancements, and VAVE/cost savings. Works individually or as part of a design team to develop, evaluate, and validate product designs and specifications. Also conducts design reviews, validates and approves documentation packages, preproduction builds, and production transfers. Provides mentor guidance and support to engineering team members across disciplines. Main Job Duties: - Provide direction and project management for opto-mechanical design and test validation efforts. The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing field service installations, repairs, and supporting all installation operations for our data center customers. You will travel throughout the US to monitor and oversee assembly teams for the successful conclusion of the project. Diagnose and problem-solve issues that arise on site and coordinate with the engineering and customer service functions to satisfy the customer needs. The co-op will have the unique opportunity to work with all levels of the company and provide support in analyzing, developing, and improving processes. The co-op will also be involved in multiple projects throughout their co-op experience. This position will assist in implementing and supporting actions that bring about improvements which may include, but are not limited to safety, customer value proposition, quality, delivery, cycle, growth, margin expansion, and inventory. The co-op opportunity will begin in Summer of 2024, with additional rotations in 2025. This includes the design and engineering of operational solutions throughout the warehouse operation for both current year gains and long-term strategy. Main Job Duties:- Using knowledge of industrial engineering techniques analyze warehouse processes identify improvement projects to optimize labor, space, accuracy, and safety throughout the process. Provides data analysis and root cause identification to prioritize the key logistics projects. Use of statistical analysis, FMEA and other analytical tools required to support recommendations. Develop and monitor process metrics.- Using concepts associated with product slotting; develop, and implement warehouse layout and logistics plans, including grouping products and product families to optimize pick productivity and minimize travel time, determining optimum sizing of pick face locations, work balancing to improve material flow and reduce congestion, load building to ensure placement of product that minimizes product damage during packing and good ergonomics to reduce risk of injury. Over time, monitors changes in customer demand and product offerings and modifies slotting to ensure continued efficiency of warehouse layout.- Evaluates warehouse processes, identify waste, and recommends changes that improve efficiency. Reviews process improvements at other warehouses for best practices that can be implemented in local site. Track and report on efficiency projects. This position will document all important aspects of the setup, performance, and results of the testing.
