At a Glance Join Legrand and help bring light to the world! That’s because we’re currently seeking a Test Engineer/Prototype Technician to join our Lighting Sector in Union City, CA. You’ll work with our Engineering and Product Development teams to build high-quality, energy-efficient luminaires and lighting systems. What Will You Do? - Help the Engineering department bring new products to the market.- Support customer needs through customization and support of existing luminaires.- Handle scheduling, prioritizing, and fabricating for pending prototypes.- Participate in every level of prototype development - from early concept phase to custom options of existing luminaries.- Fabricate, assemble and wire prototype luminaires.
Main Job Duties:- Primary IE workload:- Operations process improvement (focuses in Manufacturing and collaborates with Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering).- Factory work cell/manufacturing process layout/workflow/materials flow design and improvement.- Facilities renovations (planning, contractor coordination, and city/landlord approvals).- Assist Manufacturing Engineering team – NPIs (New Product Developments), ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), and OMSs (Operations Methods Sheets).- Supportive process control – packaging design, marketing/sales data flow, BOM/pick list accuracy, IT systems, etc. - Develops manufacturing/machining processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment;...
