At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Manager to join the Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT. The successful candidate will reporting to the VP Operations - EWS Division, this position leads all aspects of plant operations with overall responsibilities for ensuring financial and operational goals (safety, quality, service, cost productivity, and working capital) are achieved. What Will You Do?- Develop the vision and strategy for the facility and drive initiatives & actions to achieve. - Provide overall leadership to ensure that the financial and operational goals (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost Productivity, Working Capital) of the plant are met. - Proactively identify barriers and challenges that could negatively impact the operations and implement effective solutions to minimize impact.- Support all growth and strategic initiatives for the business including new product launches, product transfers, and other projects.- Communications of plant priorities, initiatives, and performance to all plant employees including daily, weekly, and quarterly scheduled meetings.- Effectively deploy the Legrand Way tool set. Utilize the LW Daily Management system as the basis for running the factory on a daily basis, ensuring hr X hr / OEE targets are met, identifying and correcting items that are not “at standard”, and quickly identifying / resolving any potential barriers to achieving goals. - Eliminate waste throughout the manufacturing operations through deployment of the Legrand Way toolkit, implementation of Lean tools and processes, driving a continuous improvement culture, and promoting employee engagement at all levels of the plant.- Primary point of contact for significant concerns or communications related to the facility. Interface with various LNA Executives, VP Operations, Purchasing, Finance, Human Resource, Engineering, customers, union officials, suppliers, to promote a high level of communication and collaboration. - Activities to support the Organization Performance Management System including establishing goals, reviewing performance, and salary administration.- Benchmark external companies to evaluate new tools and processes that will drive the Concord facility to world class levels of performance.- Develop an organization, and the people, capable of achieving the plants short term and long term goals.- Identify, propose, and obtain approval for large, impactful projects (capital & other) to drive step change improvements in the facilities performace (productivity, service, quality, etc).- Ensure the facility is capable of supporting the short and long term goals of the company through proper capital projects, preventative maintenance, footprint optimization, and other projects.- Ensure a safe work environment for all employees through implementation and maintenance of company directed safety programs, compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements, and promotion of a strong preventative safety culture. - Ensure proper collection and reporting of data necessary to track performance of the manufactuing operation against plan, identify root causes of issues, and support problem solving efforts. - Develop annual budget and ensure proper reporting of data necessary to track the performance of the manufacturing operation against budget.- Promotes harmonious working relationship with all employees through training of first line supervision in effective supervisory techniques, expedient and equitable resolution of issues, and continual communication with the work force.- Provide leadership to the organization to achieve highest levels of customer service in support of company goals and objectives. Promote the development of a customer focused culture that engages all associates through communication, priority setting and example. Play a leading role in communicating customer needs to the organization.- Performs other similar and related duties as required.
At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT. Develops, implements and maintains manufacturing processes required to meet the needs of the operation for both existing and new products. Utilizes and supports individual, team and quality/process improvement efforts. Assures manufacturing processes meet requirements for process capability, safety, customer service and reliability. What Will You Do? - Monitors quality of production and assures assigned processes are capable of producing at or above required quality levels. Perform root cause analyses, takes corrective action and designs/implements engineered solutions when appropriate to maintain effective compliance. Identifies and executes continuous improvement projects with a strong focus on Safety, Quality and Productivity.- Develops and documents manufacturing methods. Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products so as to promote efficient utilization. Drafts and designs layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency. - Develops manufacturing process plans which meet all manufacturing requirements for safety, ergonomics, process capability, quality and cost. Presents process concept proposals and implements approved processes on schedule and within budget. Identifies improvement opportunities for safety, cost, ergonomics, quality and process capability improvements.- Designs, improves, maintains and implements processes (equipment, machines, fixtures, etc.) to meet operational needs through monitoring, feedback from manufacturing leaders, supervisors, maintenance activities, operators and personal observation. Establishes and maintain effective preventive maintenance schedules for all processes.- Resolves emergent engineering related production barriers. Provide technical assistance to maintenance and operations as necessary to meet the needs of the business. Does what is required to safely get processes back on line at the minimum loss to the business.- Performs other similar and related duties as required.
At a Glance US - CT - West HartfordEntry Level Associates- First Shift (6:00AM-2:30PM) & Second Shift (3:00PM-11:30PM) Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Associate at our West Hartford, CT facility for our 1st shift operation (6:00AM-2:30PM) and our 2nd shift operation (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm). This position pays $11.75/ per hour. As an Entry Level Associate, you will perform fabrication and assembly operations to produce products of all kinds, including more complex operations. What Will You Do?- Fabrication and assembly activities include, but are not limited to, pressing, tapping, welding, sealing, labeling, stamping, counting, loading and unloading products and cartons and pallets. In addition, cutting to length and fabricating wires and assembling power/data devices into products including terminating connections and testing of assemblies or finished products. Taking direction from appropriate Group Leader or supervision.- Potentially packs, seals, and labels all raceway products utilizing tools and equipment as needed. Makes minor adjustments on assembling and packaging machines and small hand tools to maintain quality. Taking direction from appropriate Group Leader or supervision.- Uses a variety of hand tools, screw drivers, tapping machines, automatic and semi-automatic machinery. Makes minor adjustments on assembling and packaging machines and small hand tools to maintain quality.- Records, maintains, and reports on materials handled, packed, stored, or transported using applicable company systems.- Places completed work in designated location, potentially using basic material handling equipment.- Loads and unloads work in process to machines required in their rotation, including restarts and resets as needed.- Maintains equipment and materials in good repair and maintains an orderly work area consistent with 5C practices and the Wiremold Production system.- Performs Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) schedules and assignments as required for the tools, equipment and small machines used in the performance of this function.- Complies with all OSHA safety and Company safety procedures and works in a safe manner to insure both personal safety and safety to others.- Performs all assignments with attention to quality standards of workmanship.- Records quality and productivity information as necessary.- May work alone with periodic supervision or may work with a group depending on the products being assembled or the tools and equipment being operated.- Performs other work as directed by supervisor.
