The Stopped Jobs Planner will provide a liaison between manufacturing engineering, fabrication, paint, assembly, purchasing and sales departments in matters concerning stopped or delayed production. Follow progress of orders through plant in accordance with priority production schedule. Contact production supervisor in connection with special handling, availability of materials, delays, and changes in promise dates. Contact vendors concerning material shortages and delivery promises. Anticipate probable delivery failures and take appropriate corrective action. Direct delivery of materials to production departments. What Will You Do? Essential Job Functions:- Under general direction, coordinate assembly, paint, fabrication / assembly operation, and purchase components, analyze requirements, release manufacturing orders to meet department needs and provide quick turnaround on stopped or delayed manufacturing orders.- Evaluate and respond to requests on stopped or delayed orders. Take the lead to gather information and quickly return manufacturing orders to production. Create and schedule various plant operations including, but not limited to, the following: delayed, rework and new manufacturing orders.- Work closely with manufacturing engineers, track support, programmers and department management to gather basic information on required rework operations. Offer recommendations and alternatives for improvement to meet customer requirements in a timely manner. Resolve quality issues, monitor status of components to ensure smooth return to production and adjust problems requiring assistance relating to bill of material errors, defective material and design issues.- Work closely with MC Clerk on RMA’s and disposition of returned product. Evaluate returns for cost savings.- Evaluate and respond to Engineering Change Notices as it relates to inventory and production requirements.- Review inventory levels, determine component availability and impact of removing existing inventory to satisfy immediate requirement. Prepare paperwork and properly label components for issue and return to stock. Prepare paperwork and log scrapped components.- Determine status of existing inventory when components are scrapped in Assembly and coordinate process; inspect, use as is, return to vendor, etc.- Pursue and resolve vendor rejects to meet customer requirements. Provide liaison between plant operations and Purchasing / Material Control. Work with vendor (and purchasing department) to meet customer requirements. Pursue alternatives with Purchasing and Engineering for delayed components.- Maintain stopped order report and delayed order form. Evaluate to ensure proper information is provided, updated and distributed in a timely manner.- Assure the maintenance of the Epicor System with regard to accuracy; bill of material, inventory adjustment, rework, scrap, manufacturing orders and bill of material level reduction.- Utilize departmental records and files, create and update current procedures, suggesting improved procedures and responsibilities for schedules and processes assigned this position.- Maintain various reports including Stopped Order Report, Scrap report and other such reports as requested.- Participate in company programs and committee groups established to improve quality, reduce costs and satisfy customer requirements.- Recommend items related to continuous improvement, evaluation and recommendations for departmental improvements for workflow, procedures and computer enhancements. Reduce or eliminate non-value-added tasks.- Perform other duties as assigned.General Responsibilities:- Active participation in ongoing individual training/development program.- Set goals and objectives with Manager; look for ways to improve quality and productivity.- Maintain good housekeeping conditions in work area.- Report abnormalities in equipment, machines, programs and processes.- Perform backup functions to other team members and Manager as instructed.
