At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Shipper I to join the Lighting Sector Finelite Team in Union City, CA. The Shipping I is responsible for ensuring Finelite products are shipped according to company quality, procedural and safety practices. This is a key step in delivering a high quality product to our customers according to the promised delivery date. The work schedule adjusts according to the Production schedule with frequent changes, overtime and evening/weekend hours. What Will You Do?- Lift and package Finelite fixtures according to standard practices: prepare pallets for final shipment including shrink-wrapping and strapping using a mechanical strapping device with proper labeling.- Lift and load packaged fixtures into shipping cartons or pallets.- Lift and load wrapped cartons or pallets into trucks for shipment.- Safe, daily usage and operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, stretch wrap and tape dispensers.- Ensure accuracy of all inbound and outbound shipments.- Ability to reconcile inbound and outbound shipment discrepancies.- Daily warehouse organization and clean up.- Ensure all work procedures and safety regulations are followed.- Communicate in person and via email within and outside the Logistics Department, including outside.

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the activities of the Quality Control Department to assure they support quality objectives. Analyze quality data feedback from customers and manufacturing to assure product quality integrity is maintained by the plant. Lead and support team on strong root cause analysis and effective Corrective Action process avoiding issue reoccurrence. Interface with New Product Development on new projects. Perform and complete Suppliers and Customer audits with full availability to travel. Work with suppliers on quality related issues. Assure direct hourly Quality Control personnel are properly trained to carry out the Quality Control duties on the shop floor. Develop timely and analytical Quality Control reviews and presentation to upper management. What Will You Do?- Responsible for development and implementation of activities that support plant/corporate quality objectives. Perform Quality risk, implement Corrective Actions and Process Control Plan. Develop policy and procedures to support business.- Prioritize and monitor the activities of Quality Department personnel that support plant objectives to assure they are in alignment with the critical activities supporting plant objectives. Follow up and prioritize with hands-on approach as needed by the plant. Analyze quality data and report results in terms of impact to the plant objectives and continuous improvement. Utilize Quality tools to eliminate waste. Assure QA department is responsive to plant and corporate needs.- Quality reporting, corrective/preventive actions and customer complaint tracking.- Responsible for interfacing with suppliers and Customer Service as it relates to supplied parts and customer complaints. At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Process Documentation Specialist to join the Finelite Team in Union City, CA.Process Documentation Specialist Position Description: Working directly with Finelite’s Lean Manufacturing and Engineering departments, the Process Documentation Specialist (PDS) creates new and modifies existing Operational Method Sheets (OMSs) for Finelite’s production departments. The PDS assists with New Product Introductions (NPIs) and Pilot runs by developing DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) processes. In addition, the PDS will conduct time and labor studies to justify Return on Investments (ROIs) and production labor planning standards. The PDS will work with Finelite’s Lean and Facilities teams and reports to the Senior Manager of Lean Manufacturing. What Will You Do?- Creates step-by-step work instructions or OMS documents based on Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering production templates (including NPIs, Pilot runs, and Custom jobs).- Works closely with the training coordinators to recognize factory training opportunities and create/modify OMS, assisting w/ training as necessary- Maintains up-to-date OMS database including: OMS documents, Instruction Sheets (ISs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), Critical Characteristics (CCs), and other supporting drawings.- Maintains OMS sequence of events for the assembly processes with input from Design Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Production, and Quality Assurance.- Partners w/ Industrial and Manufacturing Engineers to obtain and analyze information to verify completeness and accuracy of engineering data for transfer to Production personnel.- Observes and time documents workflows for labor studies.- Supports implementation phases of Lean projects such as, but not limited to: cell layout, OMS install, lamination, signage etc.
